A short week packed with events...
Today I carved my first Halloween pumpkin!
Last night I did my research on Youtube (of course) and found some ideas and templates- there really isn't anything you can't find on the web!
So in front of a tough crowd (Grade 6 students) I carved without loss of finger or skin.
Any carving without the need for bandaids is a good one I think!
We rubbed the inside of him with cinnamon, so as the candle heated him up, the whole room smelt like cinnamon. Now for some hot chocolate and pie to complete the Friday night!

The week that was after Chuseok.
What is it about 4 day weeks that seem so long. This one dragged a little- but was very eventful.
We picked up our scooter on Wed. After I rode on the wrong side of the road and was tooted, I soon worked it out. Crazy Waegook! Pete had both kids and him on it today... a little crowded, but in some countries we all could have fitted plus a cage of chickens!
Molly had ballet as usual on Friday. She wakes up every morning and asks if it is Friday. We would always like to say yes... especially on a Monday!
Saturday we left early to travel to our sister school (GSIS) with 7 soccer teams for a day of action. It was a big day of travel and games but we all really enjoyed it and the students got a lot out of it. Next weekend is much the same travelling to Seoul for more soccer and Cross country. With over 100 students competing, it is our biggest participation yet.
This week we try to finalise grades for our first lot of reports. Next week we have parent teacher conferences. It just never stops here.
The Autumn weather is so spectacular at present, so we don't want to spend all of these great weekends travelling for sport. Hopefully we will be able to open up the scooter and have a little ride somewhere!

Chuseok break
How we love a holiday!
We have just had 5 glorious days off school and are feeling incredibly sad that we have to go back to work tomorrow. Chuseok is Korean Thanksgiving- with all businesses shut down for 2 days- unheard of in Korea, but such is the importance of spending time with family over Chuseok. Just beware of travelling at this time!
The Dad and kids had a hike up to "Chickenfoot" as is called here- a solid 5hr walk.
Mummy took a little girl ballet class, while Molly dressed up in her traditional korean Hanbok.
Jack made friends with some visiting australians... another boy who loves cricket!
We are all just feeling like we have started to relax...oh well, it is a blessing to have a job!

Happy Chuseok everyone!
