A day in Seoul

We had a great day in Seoul. The weather was the BEST we have had. Autumn is really in the air.
We found the 'Hoju' embassy easily and successfully had our licenses certified. In the basement of the building is the Kyobo  bookstore- a brilliant English Korean book store and killed about an hour and a half there. Then we had a nice walk past a Palace and into the back of the art district.
In Insadong Molly and Jack had their picture drawn, which turned out to be adorable.

Then we browsed a couple of gallery's, and ended up at the market. We all slumped into those KTX seats on the way home!

Moving house in Korea

It is so funny to watch the trucks and platforms which go up and down to move people out of apartments.
Why use the elevator when everything can go over the balcony.
This apartment was on the 9th floor and our neighbours in the closest building.
This last week we think the wet weather has finally broken.
We are having some lovely clear mornings now and while it is still pretty warm, the humidity has gone from the air.
Our herbs have finally started to kick on- a lack of sunshine and constant humidity did not help them to grow and we were worried they would rot.
Now lets hope we can get another month of nice weather so we can finally enjoy the herbs.

Pottery in Daejeon

This year I have started pottery on Monday nights. A small group of us bundle into a car and travel across into the city to spend 2 hours getting our hands dirty.
So far I have practiced, but not mastered, the art of coiling.
I have made 2 bowls and 2 small platters.
Last night I glazed them and ow they need their second firing.
It is so funny to me how the clay looks grey when it is wet and then goes white after the first firing.
When you paint the glaze on the colours look chalky and pale.
I can't wait to see how they turn out.

Do you know what colours they will be?  Stay tuned to find out!
I am excited to be spending some time with some interesting people and getting away from work for a while.

Jack's touch rugby games

Jack has been playing touch footy at school this summer. They finihed their season with a mini tournament Friday afternoon.
Jack has really improved his play. He understands the game so well and is an important and skillful part of his team. He scored a couple of tries with his pace and quick hands.

The smile says it all!

Ben 10 V2... A feature film by Jack Pearse

Jack spent about 2 hours today setting up his figurines and pain stakingly rearranging them. He took 193 stills to create 30 seconds of footage. Isn't he a clever boy!
