We are so lucky to live an hour away from the host of the 2011 IAAF world Athletics championships. This is the premier world even in the lead up to the 2010 Olympics in London. All of the big name athletes will be here, vying to make a big impression for next year.
So on Sunday morning we are taking the KTX to Daegu to watch the best athletes in the world compete.
I'm not so sure our 'rounds' of the Men's 100m will feature Usain Bolt... but I'm sure we will be amazed to watch other "fastest men on Earth".
We have tickets right on the finish line.
Check out the website http://daegu2011.iaaf.org/
We are totally excited!

Helicopter
Here is Molly playing a game at recess time with other students on Friday. It is called "Helicopter, Helicopter".
It made me laugh to see Molly jumping rope and then cutting off everyone's legs with the rope as she tried to be the helicopter.Do you think she is a good helicopter?

Reading
Here is Molly doing her nightly reading with Daddy and Jack. She is doing really well with her fluency and understanding of more complex stories.

Trouble with Roxy
As I said last post... I have been a delinquint blogger, so time to catch you all up with our experiences on Day 2 back in Korea.
We simply went to go to do the shopping. We started our car easily, gave it a pat and told her she was a good girl because she hadn't been started all holidays.
We pulled onto one of the busiest roads in Daejeon and Roxy died!
Right in the middle of the traffic.
After trying to start her again, we worked out it was a lost cause. We then decided we would slip it into neutral and push it off the road (because as you can imagine, the traffic was backed up and there was a lot of tooting)
However, Roxy decided that she would just get jammed in Park- so no pushing this car.
So here we are, coming up to peak hour traffic stuck in the middle lane of a 4 lane road.
In between bouts of traffic I managed to get the kids out and onto the side of the road, then called TCIS to get some help.
Pam... we love you!
We had all of our papers in the glove box (thank God) and so she rang the insurance company for us to get a tow.
Within minutes Mr Kim and then Mr Koo arrived and then the tow truck and all was fixed.
Mr Koo organized to have the car fixed and transported back to us. Just as we got into his car to get a lift... the rain bucketed down.
It was quite a day 2, but we were so lucky to have the TCIS classified staff on our side! They truly were our heroes!

This is the crazy road where we go stuck. Imagine me standing in the second lane redirecting traffic. |
Mr Koo helping Peter. Love the automatic tow trucks here! |

First day of the new school year
I have been a delinquent blogger...
As this blog is mostly for our families in Australia, it seems a bit weird to be blogging about our holidays in Australia when we are in Australia.
Today we start our fourth year of teaching at TCIS.
Our kids were SUPER... and I mean super excited to be going to school today. Jack was in fact so excited that he could not get to sleep last night... so he was a little tired this morning. Molly on the other hand was up and did not stop talking the whole morning.
Molly made her teacher a present as well.
So how did we do??????
Well Day 1 is over.
When Molly came to my office after school she was committed to signing up for Jump rope club, cooking club, Keyboard lessons.... again, she did not stop talking about her day. She was totally buzzing from top to bottom.
Jack was not so over the top... but he had a great day with PE as one of his first subjects (a highlight of course). Jack is really liking his teacher Miss Stephenson.
Peter and I had good days.
I am coaching varsity tennis this year, so my life is a little more complicated than it was a few days ago. However, I am excited about it and I am getting ready for a change in my schedule, lots of traveling and a trip to Beijing in October.
