The Lunar New Year is a big deal in Asia.
In China they have parties and fireworks for a couple of weeks leading up to this time.
In Korea it is a family time when shops close for 2 days, people slow down a little and travel from the cities to stay with family in Rural areas. The roads the day before and after Lunar are jammed with traffic.
This year our Lunar break is shorter. We have 4 days. So instead of traveling with the other 52 million Koreas we have stayed home to enjoy some simple things we like to do...
1.
Cooking- we tested the KitchenAid pasta attachment and made fresh pasta and lasagna.
We also made a cookie dough dip with cream cheese, brown sugar, and choc chips to have with the brilliant abundance of strawberries we have at this time of the year.
2.
Playing outside, walking...
we spent a couple of hours in the cold but sunny weather. it has been the first time in a while that it has been warm enough to have some extended time outside. We walked a long the river, played golf and scooted around the skate park.
3.
We did some craft for Valentines day... We made coffee mugs for the kids teachers and hair bows for Molly's girlfriends. I even sorted out some of my craft boxes...yikes.
4.
The kids made a pet shop... Molly used her Littlest Pet Shop animals to create a shop. They have been buying, selling and taking care of their pets.
5. The kids created their own circus, sold tickets, practiced and performed various shows. We had carnival games too.

We caught up with friends- found a new wood oven pizza place with the Gordon's and ate delicious Mexican with Telly and Barb. Our own coriander continues to grow, grow, grow whenever we get sunny days.
While we are back to work tomorrow, we feel refreshed ready to tackle the next week.
This week also marks the end of the Basketball season so Peter is looking forward to getting some time back, while I start with MS Volleyball.
We are forever busy, but thankful that our new teacher Scott is fitting in so well and taking some of the pressure off of Peter and my shoulders.
