Sadly our week in Hong Kong is coming to a close.
Tonight we had to repack the bags... quite a challenge given the few goodies we collected while here. Finally I have managed to buy some summer clothes from my holidays of perpetual winters.
Today we had a real treat with a cable tram ride to Victoria's peak which overlooks HK.
The weather was amazing and put on quite a show. One moment clear skies and sunshine and then the clouds rolled in with rain and lightening all visible from the peak.
We took a lovely walk around one of the paths which was absolutley special. It was crazy to see some personal homes dotted on the hill- not all that private with thousands of troutists and visitors looking into your houses everyday.
Finally we went to Causeway bay and explored a little and then back to the Motel for a quick dip before another thunderstorm rolled in and the pool was closed (much to Jack and Molly's disappointment).
We are ready to get home and catch up with friends and get back into the land of working.
Jack is super excited to see his buds and start third grade and Molly has been chewing our ear off with all the things she will need to tell her teacher when she starts school- sorry Dina!

Day 1 in Hong Kong
It is still amazing to me that you can jump on a plane and in a few hours you can arrive in a completely different climate and culture.
After a LONG day of travelling we arrived at our resort very late and finally all bundled into bed about 2am Adelaide time. Nedless to say we slept a little late and had a very lazy and relaxing first day in HK.
Unfortunately we are not allowed to use our camera at the pool... but we got a couple of snaps before the lovely young security man let us know why.
This resort is great with the most fantastic children's pool, slides and playgrounds. We all actually had a good time in the water today- frankly the only way to stay cool!
While the dark clouds rolled in this afternoon and it threatened to rain... it didn't really. At least the overcast condiditons keeps the temp down a little- remember we came from winter yesterday so are all feeling it!
As with all places Asian that I have been to... water + locals=fishing. HK is no exception, after all it did all begin as a modest fishing town.
It doesn't seem to take much effort to grow tropical foliage here- the gardens are just beautiful in the resort.
Love a mosaic!
Tomorrow we are off to Lantau island- the cable cars, fishing village and cable car ride (and I am sure there will be plently of pool action included)

Goolwa photo's
We had a lovely time down at Goolwa.
While it is winter here in Oz, it has been quite mild and the kids still managed to find sun and sand and surf.
Jack was able to see his friends Sam and the kids got up and close with Kangaroos large and small.
Just another awesome day in our holiday adventures!
... and I didn't even mention the first of Molly's birthday celebrations.
Hoorah for holidays!
