Harry Potter Birthday party

The arrival of the guests means all aboard the Hogwarts express at Platform 9 and 3/4...

Ethan successfully walked through the brick wall...

Here's Hayley, ready to go through the wall...

Kai busting through...

All ready for the Train!

Now we are at Hogwarts we have to be sorted into our houses by Professor MacGonagall and the sorting hat...
Gryffindor house of course...
Don't they look great in their robes and ties.

Time for wands...on to Ollivanders wand shop to choose a wand.
It's a serious business choosing a wand- birch, maple, mahogany????

...and we learned "Lumos" and "Wingardium Leviosa" from Professor Dumbledore.

Our next class was Potions with professor Snape.
"class, today we are making Polyjuice potion... take your seats"

ladelling Polyjuice potion

2 Harry's.

Hermoine stirring in her  ground unicorn horn

look at it fizz

stir, stir, stir...

a cheers and then...

drink it all.

look who they turned in to... their teacher and the President of the USA.
Hermoine must have stirred a cat hair into her potion

Spiderman, Buggs Bunny and Hello Kitty all from the Polyjuice potion.

The next class was flying and Quidditch. First we had to find the Golden snitch in a treasure hunt...

this way...

no, this way...
what does the clue say?

to the gym...

Now we need to learn to fly with Madame Hooch...

We are trying to command our brooms. You must firmly say "up"

Success- Harry with the quaffle...

After quidditch we went back to the Gryffindor common room for cake and then a visit to Honeydukes sweet shop.
great cake Dad!

yum, cake plus icecream!
It was such a nice day we travelled in our flying car for a play outside... we were quite the hit in our Potter costumes with the Korean kids! Then we finished by watching the first Harry Potter movie together on the big screen.
The Gryffindor students left tired, but happy with a list of spells, some Gringotts money, Honeydukes sweets and a Care of Magical Creatures Textbook.
